Direct Response Marketing vs. Traditional Image Marketing: Which Is Better?

May 27 2023 Published by admin under Uncategorized

There are many different kinds of marketing out there, but the one you are probably most familiar with ‘image branding’. Typically when I say “marketing” people think of expensive Super Bowl ads, car commercials, and billboards. This is what is known as “image branding” – one of the most common (and ineffective) forms of marketing. Now don’t get me wrong, image branding works for major corporations like Coca-Cola & McDonald’s. And if you have millions of dollars and decades of time, it will work for you too. Unfortunately, if you are like most, you don’t have the same resources and time as those big corporations.

Most image branding simply states the company name, location, etc, with a logo and a ‘catchy’ slogan. None of these are compelling reasons to do business with them versus anyone or everyone else. This type of advertising doesn’t make a case for the products or services that you sell, and it certainly doesn’t direct the prospect to any intelligent buying decision.

On the other hand, direct response marketing is designed to get an immediate response or purchasing decision (sale!) from the prospect. It has often been described as “salesmanship in print”, and it focuses on getting dollars right now – not a decade down the road. Direct response marketing tells a complete story presenting facts or reasons why the company / product are superior to all others. It gives your prospects a reason to get up and contact you, as opposed to waiting until they need your service or product and hoping that they might remember your name.

Direct response includes benefits that are relevant to the prospect, and produces a sales message that helps your prospect to either solve a problem or avoid a loss. These are the real reasons why people will choose your product or service, not because you have ads printed on glossy paper. And best of all unlike image branding direct response marketing is trackable so you can find out exactly how much each marketing dollar is earning you.

When placed side by side there are many differences between image branding ads and direct response ads. Typically a direct response ad will have lots of words, usually in small print, with: 1. A Headline At The Top (to draw the reader in), 2. it lists meaningful specifics, not vague generalities, 3. a promise or guarantee, 4. at least one offer, 5. exact instructions on what to do next, and 6. an extra reason to act right away. Now, open any magazine or newspaper that you have handy and you will see that almost none of the ads have these features. They all look pretty much the same with empty “white space” and glossy pictures with no headlines and very few words. This is how you will set yourself apart from your competition.

By the way, some people actually think that people will not read ads that have lots of words in small print. However, the opposite is true: people want as much information as possible before giving someone their money. You will find that the more information you give your prospect, the better chance that they will respond. That is why all of that “white space” in ads is such a waste of money.

Direct Response Marketing, compared to image-branding, is the clear winner hands down. Put simply… direct response marketing is designed to put money in your pocket this very moment, while image based / traditional / institutional marketing is designed to make you money over time; plus it costs you a lot of money in the meanwhile. Unless you have large sums of money and time you shouldn’t attempt any image-branding, instead stick with results-driven advertising that provides a trackable return on investment.

Non-Directional Vs Directional Currency Trading

May 26 2023 Published by admin under Uncategorized

Will the market price go up or will it go down? That is what we all want to know. What if it did not matter?

Directional trading

The majority of traders in any financial market are directional traders. Meaning they try to predict which way the market will move. Directional trading can cause many headaches such as

- It takes months to years of constant practice and training which can be very expensive and time consuming. In many cases this requires you to be in front of your computer the entire time your trades are in the market.

- You need to be aware of all the upcoming news announcements and be fluent with understanding several different market indicators.

- You must be disciplined and have high amounts of commitment and patience.

- Directional traders are frequently in and out of the market. In most cases, you will be in less than a day, hence the name day traders. This causes you to pay a lot of extra money in broker fees.

- Another disadvantage to directional trading is that you must be up at odd hours of the day when the market is moving at a fast pace. Plus, you must remember different trading strategies which may be very complicated.

- Finally, the most important factor is you must have high emotional control to make rational decisions rather than emotional decisions based on fear and greed. This has much more to do with your personality than your academic ability to learn.
It is said 95% of the people who trade directionally will lose.

Non-directional Trading

A trading method that is not dependent on which direction the market moves is known as non-directional trading or hedge trading. In the foreign currency market the method of non-directional trading would be buying currency pairs that move in opposite directions such as the EUR/USD and the USD/CHF. The gains on one trade will be offset by losses on the other. This allows the trader to stay in the market and substantially reduce their risk while they continually buy low and sell high small portions of their account.
Most Non-directional Trading strategies are much more automated than directional Trading strategies. So they require much less time to perform.

Since the trades are hedged there is no need to monitor your trades.

You can place pending limit trades for both possible market movements, so there is no need to worry about missing a trading opportunity.

Since it does not matter which way the market moves, pending order trades can be placed for both possibilities market movements, either up or down. This allows you to not have to continuously watch your trades.

Since you are not entirely getting out of the trades you are paying much less in broker fees. Also in the forex market you are entitled to earn interest on the leveraged amount of money you control in the market. Depending on the amount of money you keep in the market you can receive a substantial return on interest alone.

When using a structured method such as Non-directional trading it limits the possibility of making irrational decisions, and reduced the total amount of decisions that need to be made.

Best of all there is no need to read complicated charts or graphs.

Of course there are also disadvantages to Non-directional trading. A directional trader has the possibility of making a lot more money in much shorter amount of time; however, with the majority of beginning traders losing all the money in their accounts in only a few months a longer term Non-directional trading strategy is a very favorable alternative.

The Importance Of A Follow Up Marketing Plan

May 25 2023 Published by admin under Uncategorized

Do you know what the importance of following up on your customers is? Well believe it or not, your own customer list is the true profit center in your business. If you’ve just been focusing on getting new customers into your business, then you’re making a big mistake.

In any business, 80% of all business profits will come from sales from repeat customers. This process is known as “backend marketing”, and it’s something that you should be implementing in your business today. If you want to make more money in your business, (and relatively fast I might add), you should contact your customer list right now.

If you’ve been neglecting them for a while now, then they might now be receptive to your initial offer. A great way to reactivate your customers is to send them a simple “I miss you” letter. In this letter, you should say that you’ve been thinking about them and that you haven’t heard from them in a while.

In this letter, you shouldn’t send out your entire sales presentation. After you send them this letter, wait about 20 days to mail out to these people again. In this next mailing, you should include a pitch about a new or existing product that you have, that will benefit them in some way. You should also ask them to sign up to your email newsletter, so that they you can contact them automatically, and so that they can get deals on products in your store.

This is the general gist of how you should go about contacting your existing customers. And believe it or not, most of them will reactivate themselves as soon as you contact them again, so it works out for the both of you. If you’re not implementing backend marketing in your business today, then now is the time to start doing it.

Backend marketing is the backbone of your business. Any business guru will tell you this, and you don’t have to take my word for it, simply run a simple backend marketing campaign and see for yourself. You will find yourself with new business flowing into your doors relatively quickly.

Take the time to nurture your customer list and to get them to buy from you. They want to form a relationship with you – especially if you over delivered on the product or service that you sold them. If you don’t remember anything from today’s lesson, make sure you understand that your current customers is where most of your profits will come from.

You don’t have any customer acquisition costs, because you already have someone to sell to! So it’s like making money for free! How good is that!?!

Be the expert marketer that you know you can be and start contacting these people today. You will find that more than likely these people will create a sudden surge in your business profits. Start using this technique today, and watch as your business soars. I guarantee you that it will be worth it.

Good luck with using backend marketing to earn more repeat profits.

Top 5 Postcard Marketing Mistakes

May 24 2023 Published by admin under Uncategorized

Postcards are an extremely useful marketing tool for just about every business. However, many businesses are under utilizing their marketing campaigns due to a few highly involved marketing mistakes. This can be a costly error as all of the money that they have poured into their postcard campaign is not only being under utilized, but they are also not getting the results that they could see if they optimized their full campaign.

Below are five of the top postcard design mistakes that just about all businesses should be aware of before they get started.

Layout – Is your layout clean, simple and to the point? Many times businesses are so over their heads in the deals and special promotions that they want to offer that they forget about what is most appealing to the eye. This is very important in recognizing and you must be aware that your clients should get all of your information within 3 seconds.

Colors – Many times businesses go over board on their color scheme in an attempt to better get eyeballs to their marketing collateral. This not only causes confusion with brand identity but also make the postcard a bit too confusing for their prospect to follow. So be sure that all of the colors you use are within

Die cut – Think outside the proverbial box (or postcard rectangle) and go for something that will stick out. Create a postcard that will entice your read to look at your information and become interested enough to read what you have to say. The best way to get this attention right off the bat is to create a postcard shape that will stick out.

Paper Type – Many times businesses will go with the cheapest printer and as a result get cheap results. This is perhaps the most costly mistake as this postcard is reflective of both your business and the services you provide. As a result, opt for a more high-end printer that can provide the type of postcard quality that your business provides.

Copy – Most copy on postcards does not have a specific and clear call to action. It will simply state the information about an event, cause or sales and will not have a definitive call to action at the end. This is a huge mistake for just about all businesses. Customers need to know what they are supposed to do with the information they just learned. As a result, think of phrasing that is action oriented and tell them to either call, visit, email, or tweet.

This list is somewhat short when it comes to the large list of potential mistakes that all businesses could do. As a result, do a little reach on your competitors and see what they’re doing. Take what you like, and play off the ideas that they fall short on. This will not only enhance your campaign, but also provide a learning experience for your postcard marketing.

Direct Internet Network Marketing

May 22 2023 Published by admin under Uncategorized

Today’s message is on a topic I rarely see discussed online, that being how to apply direct marketing principles to your network marketing business.
To be fair, network marketing itself, does in fact follow a direct marketing model, but not in the most efficient way.
It’s understandable why, in many highly successful direct marketing businesses the phone is a key component to creating results, but you don’t see the owner of the organization on the phone themselves, rather they hire a phone room to do the dirty work. When done properly it can be highly effective, but when done improperly it can alienate your customers and give them a bad impression of you and your business.
Just yesterday, which was Sunday, I was riding along in the car with a friend when my phone rang. It turned out to be a telemarketer who had pulled my name from the list of customers of someone I had purchased an information product from trying to solicit a seminar sale.I was wholly closed to this because it was Sunday and I have better things to do than be sold a ticket to a seminar that I had no interest in.
The phone is a very sensitive media and this should be understood. Now, instead of looking favorably upon the person I had purchased from I will forever hold a negative vision of them because of this call.
So that’s how telemarketing can be done wrong. In network marketing you’re taught to do 3 way calls which can be effective, but understand when you’re taught to do this without first being taught how to generate your leads first you’re basically being reduced to a telemarketer.Understand that the phone if you so choose to use it in your business is only one piece of the puzzle and all pieces must be present for optimum success.
It starts with lead generations. Where are you going to find your prospective recruits? Online there are several different ways to do this.
Next comes qualifying them. How are you going to get them to raise their hand and show you that they are interested in what you have? Are you going to use a lead capture page or something else to have your leads qualify themselves?Next comes communication with your leads. How are you going to constantly communicate with your leads so that a trusting relationship is built? Are you going to use email, teleseminars, personal phone follow up, or are you going to do them all. Finally we come to the offer. What are you going to offer your prospects that they want and how are you going to have them take action to get it? Will it be a sales page that you use, direct mail?
In all this you have to understand that all parts of the system must be congruent with each other. You can’t get traffic from people interested in health and sell them personal development. It won’t work optimally.Further you can’t have your leads opt into a lead capture page for one thing and then in your email follow up talk about something completely different.
It’s all got to fit together. And you’ve got to offer your prospects what they want. So you have to know what they want. You can’t guess at this, because you don’t know until you ask them.
It’s like the game show “Family Feud” you don’t get points for giving the BEST answer you win by giving the answer that most people polled said.
It’s not about you, it’s about them. All these things must be in harmony for you to leverage a direct marketing approach to network marketing most effectively, it’s not just getting some leads from a leads company and calling them.
If you just do this you’ll miss out on truly leveraging what direct marketing should be for your network marketing business, especially when we talk about the internet.

Discounts And Paid Newsletters To Market Your Business

May 22 2023 Published by admin under Uncategorized

If you want to see immediate sales in your business, the best way to do so is via advertising. I would say direct mail is the best source for getting more new traffic, but it takes so long to get everything set up, and you have to wait for a list to be mailed to your home. By the time all of this happens, you could have probably run multiple display ads in the newspaper.

By the time that you get finished uploading your ad to the newspaper, you could have generated a lead, led them to your website, and even get some people to buy from you. Now I’m not ruling out direct mail. I think it’s a great source to earn money from. But if you want to see results immediately, simply stick with advertising first.

Now with that said, I still don’t recommend that you spend all of your money an effort on one technique. You don’t want to do this because the minute your profit source dries up, you will be out of business, and will be scrambling to find ways to make money. This is something that you don’t want to do.

Instead, focus on more than one marketing strategy. The 3 that I recommend are newspaper advertising, direct mail marketing, and joint ventures. All of these strategies can help you to earn more money in your business, and will help you to gain as many new customers than you can possibly handle.

When it comes to marketing your business, it’s important to follow the tips listed in this article. In fact, let’s take a look at some of the ways that you can start using marketing strategies in your business today.

1) Offer them discounts

You can make your customers privy to the special deals and offers that are not offered by non-customers. This is a great way to make your customers and clients feel special, so it would be in your best interest to make your discounts as attractive as possible. You can have your customers print out your email and show it to them, or they can cut out the dotted coupon in your newsletter.

Let’s take another look at a marketing strategy that still works today.

2) Paid Newsletters

Your paid newsletter should include little-known tips and secrets that other people just won’t find anywhere else. The price for your newsletter should be about $10. With hundreds of customer in your database, you can easily wake up with thousands of dollars in your bank account overnight. You didn’t have to do anything special to get the lead, so this is an entrepreneur’s dream.

You may want to consider offering them a paid $10 a month version of the newsletter, or a $99 dollar discount for paying in full. I like this marketing strategy, because a little continuity program can really help to improve your business income.

Hopefully you can use these tips to have the most success as possible in your business.

Good luck with using these tips to make more money in your business today.

Does Direct Mail Marketing Still Reign Supreme?

May 21 2023 Published by admin under Uncategorized

Sure, there are plenty of different marketing methods out there, but one method, which has proven itself over and over again, is direct mail marketing. Despite the latest technological advances, direct mail marketing is still a highly-effective marketing strategy.Hey, let’s face it… good old-fashioned paper mail is still a part of everyone’s life despite email, text messaging and other new forms of communication in today’s society. Most people still like to have something solid in their hands… something they can manipulate and explore… something which appeals to their senses. So, why does direct mail marketing still work?Is it really any better than other forms of advertising out there?Let’s think about this for a moment…Direct marketing of any sort, is exactly that… marketing that is ‘direct’, directing a specific message to a specific audience. Any time you can get a message directly to your prospects, it is a good thing. But which is better? Direct mail marketing or more general forms of advertising?Throwing Money Away on Unqualified LeadsGeneral advertising (TV, radio, newspaper, billboards, web sites, etc.) tends to provide blanket coverage. A one-size-fits-all solution with a generic message aimed at a general audience. Many of your advertising dollars could be thrown away on uninterested and unqualified people.General advertising methods offer no real staying power. The message is there one minute, gone the next and then forgotten just as quickly. With this type of advertising, ads must compete with a variety of attention-grabbers; all reaching out for the same prospects. Someone you may consider a prospect may have a quick peek at your ad and then something else may catch their eye before they have a chance to absorb your message.General advertising, even when it works, often has delayed results, due to time lapses between the message being viewed or heard, the intent to buy and any resulting purchase. This form of advertising is also harder to evaluate due to many factors.Direct Mail Marketing Still Offers Best Bang for Your BuckOn the other hand, direct mail marketing campaigns can be highly targeted to specific individuals, groups or businesses. Messages can even be personalized and tailored for each prospect or group of prospects. Your message could refer to each individual by name or focus on a specific need of a group of people. This type of advertising is extremely cost-effective, as you only pay to reach people who are more likely to be interested in what you are offering. With each piece of mail being opened and read one piece at a time, it provides the best chance of catching and holding a prospect’s attention. Sure, there are lots of junk mail being tossed out every day, but as people sort through their mail, they still have to look at each piece to determine what category it falls into. Their eyes still fall, however briefly, on each individual piece of mail. If your mailing is packaged in the right kind of envelope it will get opened and read.Direct mail marketing also has a lingering marketing effect. Your message has a physical form that not only appeals to the senses but can be kept around to be re-read or even viewed by others. This method also allows for better sales analysis and the ability to more accurately track your return on investment (ROI). Unlike general forms of advertising, this method also provides quicker results, often generating immediate action or response.Your Prospects List is Key to a Successful Direct Mail CampaignDirect mail marketing campaigns work best when you have a highly-targeted list of prospects, so don’t cut corners here. The better the list, the better the results! Though this is a good discussion for another time, here are a few pointers. Buy your direct mail lists from a company who offers personalized service and who can take the time to provide you with the exact list you need.Armed with a proper list of prospects and a well-designed mailing your direct mail marketing efforts should pay off substantially.

Explaining Viral Marketing

May 19 2023 Published by admin under Uncategorized

Viral marketing may sound a bit strange at first. It sounds like something you would want to stay away from at all costs. However, it is proving to be the wave of the future for promoting new products and concepts. The old way of marketing a new product was to buy ad space in a newspaper or buy television time to let people hear about your product. In today’s marketplace people are bombarded by advertising whether it is written or on local radio or television. Most people have become so annoyed by advertising, they have learned to tune it out completely. So how does one get a marketing message across? How can new ideas and products be promoted effectively? In many businesses, products are promoted by referral. One person who is satisfied with a product will tell his friends about it and recommend it. For years this has been one of the best ways to get new customers. Any salesperson will tell you that. Viral marketing uses this concept and combines it with the Internet to spread a message even more rapidly. With the use of technology the referral method of selling is faster than ever before. Many viral programs begin by offering something for free. Friends tell friends who tell other friends about the free offer. As more and more people take the free offer a huge database of names and email addresses is created. Many of the groups of people have a common thread running through them. Maybe they are all college students. This common theme can make marketing (after the free offer) to this group extremely effective. It is a way of using consumers to market to other consumers rather than having a manufacturer or service provider market directly to consumers. This seems to be a much more successful manufacturing method. Again this stems from the marketing overload we have today. It is a new approach that is less invasive and better received.Viral marketing is also a lot less expensive than traditional marketing. With traditional marketing you needed to usually print material to send on by postal mail to potential customers. Printing and mailing costs can be extortionate especially when you have a large potential client base. Also getting a qualified list of prospects is a major expense. All of this money is being spent in an attempt to generate a few sales. And this brings us right back to the same issue of marketing overload. Most people receive so many advertisements today that they almost never read or pay any attention to them. Television and radio advertising have become so heavy that “channel surfing” has become an American pastime. The term viral marketing has caught on because this new phenomenon is spread from one person to another. Good ideas can become contagious. With people being more connected through technology than ever before the number of people in someone’s network is typically much larger. When an idea starts, it passes to all the contacts in one network and then each person in that network has their own network to spread the virus(idea) to and so on and so on. This concept seems to be here to stay.

7 Referral Marketing Tips Worth Remembering

May 16 2023 Published by admin under Uncategorized

As we spend our days chasing down new leads and driving traffic, managing advertisements and writing blog articles, we sometimes overlook the very valuable revenue source we have already cultivated- our current customer base, family, friends. co-workers and business associates!Your biggest source of referrals will come from people who already know, like, and trust you, but who may or may not already be customers of yours. Follow these tips to maximize the exposure of your business through your network.

Start asking for referrals from the very first day you start your business. Immediately let everyone in your closest sphere of influence, also called your HOT market of your closest friends and immediate family members, know what your new business is all about. The trick to this is to let them know up front that you are just spreading the word and there is no obligation to buy from you. Ask for their help in naming a few people they know who may benefit from your product or service to get you started. If these people love and care about you, they will be glad to help.

Ask for a new referral every day from at least one person you meet or speak to. Come up with a quick question you can ask to virtually anyone to get a referral, such as, “Do you know anyone who would be interested in creating a new source of cashflow?” or “Do you know anyone who would be interested in a product that…?” (fill in the blank for the benefit of your product or service). They may surprise you with a name or even say they would be interested themselves. If they say no, then at least you asked. And most importantly remember that when you ask this way, you never get a personal rejection. They are rejecting the product, service or opportunity.

Join a mastermind or referral group designed to specifically generate referral leads from the other members of the group. Such groups as BNI have been around for years helping entrepreneurs promote their businesses. But you can also create your own mastermind group with any small collection of business owners who intend to refer business to each other. You can each carry the business cards of the other group members and pass them out as often as possible. You must have faith in your group members, though, that each person is doing the same for you and that each person is sharing the responsibility. If they are not, do not be shy about asking them to leave the group.

Spend time each week connecting with current or former customers to ask for referrals. Either by phone or e-mail, connect weekly with customers who would willingly share your product or service with their own network. Sometimes they will do this on their own and sometimes they need to be prompted by you to jog a name from their memory. Phone calls are obviously more personal and may put people on the spot to give you a direct answer, but e-mails allow them to ponder the question and respond at their leisure, even if it is many months later. You can also try a combination phone call followed up by an e-mail.

Call or visit with your warm market directly and make a personal connection. Your warm market are acquaintances that you do not see often or would not call on the phone regularly to speak to, or that you know by name only. These are your kids’ friends’ parents, your insurance agent, your dental hygienist, the clerk at the store you go to all the time, you get the picture. These people can smell a sale a mile away especially if it comes from someone who they would never otherwise speak to. So, you cannot come on too strong. Asking for a referral is a great, non-threatening way to introduce your business and ask for their help at the same time. The most important thing here is to make the connection and learn something about them even if you don’t get a referral from them right away or ever.

Ask for referrals from prospects who end up not buying from you. At the end of every sales presentation, you get to the point where the prospect has to say yes or no. If the answer is no, do not let that person leave without asking for a referral. Just because your product or service isn’t for them doesn’t mean that someone they know wouldn’t be interested. And if they were at all impressed by your presentation, they will gladly give you a name. This also lets this prospect know that there are no hard feelings, you respect their decision and you are ready to move on. You will not be waiting around for them to change their mind.

As Nike would say: Just Do It! Referral marketing can help even the shyest marketer to talk to people directly without feeling like they are selling or “prospecting.” The worst that can happen is that the person won’t know anyone else who would be interested. The best thing that can happen is that they give you a list from their own network that makes you a lot of money. Is it worth the risk? You Betcha!

Logo Marketing Vs Direct Response Marketing

May 14 2023 Published by admin under Uncategorized

Your logo has nothing to do with you marketing your products and services. If you want to earn more money, you have to focus on principles that will allow you to earn more money in a short period of time. This is known as direct response marketing, and it’s something that a lot people don’t know about, but can really make you profitable. You see if you’re new business, and you tried to promote yourself using logo marketing, you will find that no one cares about your brand or logo – all they care about is “what’s in it for them”. Once you analyze and come to a conclusion of what makes your business different, then you’ll stand a good chance of making your products and services work for you. There are far better concepts that you can use to boost your sales and profits as opposed to logo marketing. For example once such technique that you could be using is direct response marketing. Direct response takes the concept of marketing your business, and focuses on quick results. This is by no means a “get rich quick” strategy – instead, it takes the old concept of marketing and simply turns it on it’s head. So instead of using cold calling, telemarketing, or door to door selling, there are other profitable ways to sell your products and services. I highly suggest that you seek out these strategies so that they can make your business more profitable.Instead of doing logo marketing, stick with direct response. Direct response let’s you know whether or not your business will be profitable or not. The thing about direct response is that you get sales quickly. Your ad either brings in results, or it doesn’t in a short period of time. That’s the beauty of direct response marketing. Some business owners feel that direct marketing isn’t worth their time and effort, but they feel that brand advertising is the universal standard of promoting your products and services. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Brand advertising is something that takes a long time to work. But if you don’t have this kind of time to waste, you should spend most of your time on direct response. You can’t operate on the principle that all you need is “exposure” and that you can “get your name out there” as well. These kinds of marketing strategies are the reasons why so many people go out of business. They think that if they build it they will come, and they think that all that it takes is to start a business, and people will flock to their place of business. The bottom line is that marketing still works and you’ll be able to find yourself a great opportunity to go into a niche and make a nice killing from this traffic. But this is assuming that you operate on the premise on direct response marketing. The bottom line is that direct response works every time, and it’s something that you will be able to use in your business today – so don’t neglect it.
